Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD)

VASWCD is a private nonprofit association of 47 soil and water conservation districts in Virginia. Their goal is to provide and promote leadership in the conservation of natural resources through stewardship and education programs.

Virginia Forage and Grassland Council (VFGC)

VFGC promotes the value of forage crops through research and education to expand forage production, utilization, and marketing.

Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR)

DCR protects natural habitat, parks, clean water, dams, open space and access to the outdoors through funding, expertise, education, acquisition and improved access.

Graze 300

Graze300 aims to enable Virginia farmers to achieve 300 days of livestock grazing by facilitating better pasture management and environmental stewardship.

Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)

NRCS offers both Technical and Financial assistance for conservation practices. NRCS provides numerous educational resources. To learn more about the financial assistance programs visit here.

Virginia Farm Bureau (VFB)

VBF assists farmers through resources for marketing and business, lobbying & advocacy, and provides farm insurance.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE)

VCE is focused on educating the public about agricultural research happening at universities. The Albemarle County VCE office educates through 4H programs, Master Gardens and Master Naturalist programs, and education materials.

Virginia Cattlemen’s Association (VCA)

VCA promotes more effective marketing from the farm to the consumer and to present cattlemen’s views to the legislature on the state and local levels.

USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA)

FSA Serves Virginia’s agricultural community through the delivery of effective, efficient agricultural programs. FSA offers education and financial assistance. Learn more about the financial assistance programs here.

Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF)

CBF is an independent conservation organization aimed at protecting the bay through advocacy, education, science, and programs. Learn more about the CBF Programs here.

James River Association (JRA)

JRA works to protect the James River through promoting conservation. JRA provides education, monitors the river, completes on-the-ground projects, and engages with the community.

Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ)

DEQ protects Virginia’s environment through education, monitoring & assessment, and proactive policies.

Blue Ridge PRISM

PRISM works to lessen the negative impact of invasive species on both private and public land within 10 counties located in Virginia’s northern Blue Ridge region.

Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC)

PEC works with the citizens of our nine-county region to conserve land, create thriving communities, strengthen rural economies, celebrate historic resources, protect air and water quality, build smart transportation networks, promote sustainable energy choices, restore wildlife habitat, and improve people’s access to nature.

Rivanna Conservation Alliance (RCA)

RCA is a nonprofit watershed organization created to provide the community with a set of tools and programs specifically designed to help clean and protect the Rivanna River and its tributaries.

Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS)

VDACS promotes the economic growth and development of Virginia agriculture. They provide information on certifications and regulations.
