How We're Supported

Support for the TJSWCD comes through the Commonwealth of Virginia (through the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation – Division of Soil & Water Conservation), state & federal grants, contributions from each of our five member localities, fees for special services, private grants, and donations.

Would you like to support our local conservation efforts?

Consider a tax deductible donation to the Thomas Jefferson Soil and Water Conservation District! Here are some ideas:

  • Provide support for our Scholarship Program and help a local student receive a degree in a conservation-related field.
  • Provide support for the VASWCD Youth Conservation Camp, and send a local high school student to Virginia Tech for a week of learning and networking.
  • Contribute to the Envirothon so we can continue to offer a local level competition.
  • Contribute to the Open Space Easement Program and to defray the costs incurred by the easement donor.

Your support can help to foster local conservation in many ways! For more information, contact Anne Coates, Executive Director, at 434-975-0224, Ext. 100
